Pressed Fresh Collective offers a collaborative music distribution platform built by and for independent artists, providing not just DSP placement but real tools and partnership for growth at every stage.

Our Story

From the inception of Pressed PR in 2017, our team has been focused on creating a community that brings intentionality and innovation to every project with the best-of-the-best industry professionals that are ready to tap in and support artists at any moment in their career. With the emergence of PressedFresh Collective in 2022, we made huge strides towards that dream....

But we didn’t stop there.

The launch of PressedFresh Collective opened our eyes that the new music industry is independent - and artists need a team they can count on from start to finish. Thus, our distribution platform was created as the final missing piece to creating that seamless, start-to-finish, collaborative approach for artists to have every resource they need to release and promote their music with one cohesive team.

 FAQs

  • Our payment model enables artists to build their catalog without a growing list of lifetime yearly fees. We only keep 10% of your streaming revenue in order to maintain your catalog on the DSP’s (so you don’t have a growing bill to keep your music available online). This also incentives us to keep working on providing additional opportunities and included benefits for artists to promote their music.

Note: Our royalty commission comes from STREAMING royalties only... not your publishing royalties.

  • With over 60,000 new uploads to Spotify every day, it’s harder and harder to stand out above the crowd. We curate our roster because we want to provide a collaborative and personalized experience for the artists we work with and because we provide streaming support to further help the artists. Since we are providing additional services to help your music stand out, we need to be just as confident in it as you are in your music and in our ability to promote it well.

  • Primarily, we have to love and believe in the music as much as you do. After that, we’ll consider several other factors including: Do we feel that we could have playlisting success? Do we have space in our schedule? Does the timeline of the release work for our team? Does the artist have a long-term release strategy planned? Is the artist actively working to promote their music and engage with fans?

  • Depending on your needs and goals, you can apply for additional services to boost your release such as PR, digital marketing campaigns, playlist pitching, social media strategy, graphic design, and more. In addition, all services available through our Collective are also on offer to you.

Find out more about how you can apply for these services inside your artist dashboard.

  • For distribution and digital marketing we recommend uploading 3-5 weeks ahead of the release date. Each release goes through a review process before it’s sent to DSPs, so allowing for a longer lead time gives us space to make any corrections that the review process declines the submission for to ensure your release drops on time. This also gives us time to appropriately pitch for playlist inclusion and work on any other promotional elements you may be interested in. If you're interested in PR services for your release we recommend a minimum of 4-6 weeks.

Ensure that your release goes live with all DSPs at the same time (each platform has a different turnaround time once sent).

Utilize the Spotify for Artists Pitch Tool, which is available up to seven days ahead of your release.

Getting assets together can sometimes be out of your control, so my best advice is to work ahead and give yourself time for master revisions, artwork revisions, and other unexpected delays before delivery. And it’s not a big deal to shift your plans. The most important thing is that you’re happy with the final product!

  • No. We don't guarantee any amount of streams or playlist inclusions. However, we do actively work to promote each of our artist's release by ensuring that the release is set up and represented to DSPs in the best way possible. If the artist is interested in working with us on a deeper level, we also offer PR and digital marketing packages as add-ons to further promote the music. But nothing is ever guaranteed as ultimately the decision is in the hands of the people we are pitching to. The only thing we can guarantee is that we will put our best foot forward and do everything in our power to make sure your release does its best.

  • Great! We would love to have you! The process for moving your back catalog over from a different distributor is super easy via bulk uploads and our support team will be there to help you through it.

  • Yes, we allow the upload of cover versions for distribution, but please be aware of the following:

    - On demand streaming (eg. Spotify/Apple Music) is permitted worldwide without a license. This is our default setting. If you flag a track as being a cover during the track set up process, then we will deliver it to all streaming services you have selected. It will not go to download stores (eg. iTunes/Amazon). If you're happy with this set up then you don't need to take any further action.

    - If you wish to allow downloads, you will need to purchase a mechanical license for USA, Canada, Mexico, Pakistan and India sales. We recommend www.easysonglicensing.com, which is approximately $15USD for a license.

    - Please email us with proof of the license and we can activate downloads on the release.

    - Another option, if you wish to exclude USA, Canada, Mexico, Pakistan and India as territories, we can allow downloads + streaming without a license. Please email us to confirm this.

  • Artists can only deliver their video content and create an official channel with VEVO through a verified content partner (that's us!).

Why would you want to utilize VEVO? In short, VEVO maintains the largest network of music channels on YouTube, and also distributes music videos to major Connected TV platforms and streaming services, including Apple TV, Hulu + Live TV, Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus, and Roku. Artists who host their videos on VEVO are also eligible for additional promotion of videos across the VEVO network, both on YouTube and major Connected TV platforms and streaming services, strategic editorial support on VEVO’s social networks, and customized and promoted playlisting.

As a VEVO distributor, we are also able to contact VEVO throughout the year to advocate for our artists’ participation in their original content opportunities (VEVO films nearly 1,000 pieces of original content each year from both established and emerging artists).

  • The Apple Music video fee is due to strict Apple specs that require specialist quality control and delivery.

“Working with a distribution company is inevitable… we want to find new ways to personalize the experience for artists and give them the tools and team they need to really support their music and help it reach wider audiences”
